Back to Basics

Sometimes it’s good to refresh our knowledge!

At Bloom we are often asked to analyse and evaluate complex regulatory topics but sometimes it is good to return to the fundamentals and calibrate ourselves against the various requirements of cosmetic legislation locally and internationally.  This can be particularly useful for those new to cosmetics as well as a useful refresher for those of us who’ve been around for a while!

Over the coming months we have a number of presentations in this area:

15 July

Amanda will be providing a revision session for the students on the SCS Diploma course in cosmetic science covering the essentials of the EU Cosmetics Regulation and testing their knowledge on the key work areas of new regulatory employees. This event is open to SCS students only.

16 July

Amanda and Laila will be providing a refresher and update in partnership with the Chartered Trading Standards Institute covering key aspects of cosmetic compliance and information on what has changed since leaving the EU. This event is open to Trading Standards only.

August

We’ll be recording a module for our industry colleague Jennifer Rudd (Skincare Business Foundation) to provide an overview of the key areas of consideration when expanding into a global marketplace and in particular compliance in the US, Canada, EU and UK.  The module will form part of the online course Jen offers on cosmetic compliance for the Australia market.

November

…in contrast, Olivia and Amanda will be speaking again this year at SCS Formulate, this time on the topic of considerations beyond the cosmetic legislation. In today’s marketplace, compliance with the cosmetic legislation is not enough and additional regulations play important roles when it comes to aspects such as recyclability and sustainable design.  This session will be open to attendees of SCS Formulate.

We hope to see you at one of our forthcoming sessions but if you can’t make it, we’re happy to provide individual or group presentations and interactive trainings.  Get in touch to find out more about these services.
